glass top
Well with a friend we installed the top. I did have one problem with the top. The bolts were loose, and I had to center them on the top. I did apply the rubber with 303. I did install as per your instructions, and did read my manual on how to install the top. It when on easy, and it...
I know I am going to get raked over the coals on this, but I have a glass top that I have not put on the car since I bought it 7 years ago. It is a 96 LT4 CE. I sure don't want to damage it, so any info on the right way to installed it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Larry:)
I guess all you younger guys should look bcack how this corvette fever, got started. Back in the day when they first introduced in 1953, I was 18, and saw my first corvette. I just love it and told my then girl friend that I was going to get one, ( whos now my wife ), in those days we all...
Why
The reason I like my Corvette is because when I was in the Marines, in 1954 I saw a 1953 Corvette, and I had my buddy take a picture of it with me beside it. I then sent it to my then girl friend, and told her that I was going to have one of these. I was 18 and since then have been married...
I have a 1996 CE LT4. I am 76 and have wrenched all my life. This is my last vette and I am very happy with this model year. I have a problem. I just bought a Garmin navigator. The accessory plug is not wired in. I have taken off the center console and was ready to connect the wiring. First of...
Wipers hang up when on the slow intermediate speeds. This just started happening. It seems to happen on the slowest speed. I have replaced the blades, from Chev dealer and they made sure they were the proper replacements. Any help will be appreciated. 1996 CE LT4.:confused
mice
Thanks for the reply on dryer sheets. I do place them in the motor area, and in exhaust pipes. I did not place them inside. I need some advice on getting rid of them. Larry
Boy was surprise when I checked my 96 CE LT 4 today. It was full of mice droppings. It is stored in my shop which is heated, and under cover. I am asking any help in getting rid of them. I am really sick, as I hope no damage has been done. Thanks in advance. Larry;help
I just purchase a new set of GS Goodyear tires for my 1996 CE Lt4. I took a trip to Seattle, from northern Idaho, and it was as smooth ride. When I was ready to come back I picked up to tar or rubber, that stuck to the front tires. It was a 350 mil trip back and the tires was were out of...
Injectors
LT4 man that was a great article. I am out of the loop as far as the new fuel injectors systems. I have a CE LT4 with 51,000 on it. I have been a gearhead since the 50's and 60's on corvettes. I am very anel on my maintenace of my vette. Just a quick question on the injectors. Are...
Well I change the oil to mobile1 10/30, and AC filter. Just have been driving it a couple of days, and it sure has helped. I don't hear the lifter noise when starting up. It did make a noise when I first started, and got better each time after that. No noise when it has been running, and...
road trip
We take the highway 1 from SF to Hearst Castle every year that we go south in our motorhome. It is neat I would not miss it for anything. We start in northern Idaho. We do it in a day. It should be a blast in your Vette. I am looking forward doing it someday in my CE LT4. Larry
I am getting ready to change the coolant in my LT4 CE. It has 50,000 miles on it. I wondering if I should use distilled water, and what is the capacity. Thanks Larry;help
six speed
All my vettes have been sticks. From my 62, 66, 78, and my current Lt4 CE which is a speed. I know the autos are fun to drive, but not like the sticks. I love the old feeling of shifting, and surprising myself, and others. Save the wave.:w Larry
The vette has 50,000 miles on it, mobile 5w 30w synthetic. I bought the vette with 47,500 miles on it. I changed the oil when I got it home from driving 350 miles. I have been a gearhead since I was a kid. I have owned a 1962, 340hp, 1966 327, 350hp coupe, and a 1978 L82 4 speed, all purchased...
