I know I am going to get raked over the coals on this, but I have a glass top that I have not put on the car since I bought it 7 years ago. It is a 96 LT4 CE. I sure don't want to damage it, so any info on the right way to installed it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Larry:)

No coal raking here!

After you remove your silver top, treat the weatherstripping if that has not been done recently.

Install top carefully. Two people make the job easier.

If doing this by yourself, drop down both windows and open both doors. This enables you to be closer to the car when installing the top.

Start all four bolts a little bit. Tighten each one a little at a time until snug.

Tighten the rear bolts all the way before tightening the front bolts all the way.

You should be good to go!

Good Luck!

Take your time and have a friend help..

Clean and dress the rubber and check all the fastners for rust and a light wax for lube would help. With the car on a level flat surface, doors open, windows down, with the help of a friend set the top in place. Start and draw down the fasteners and do not tighten. Close the windows, shut the doors while inside and draw down the fasteners to near tight. Take the car for a drive and do some passes over angled ramps to twist the car a bit to seat the top. Return to the flat spot if you had no major air leaks and finish tighting the fasteners.

Now the normal way, throw on the top tighten the screws and go.

If you get a chance do it with a C6, the top is super light, and no, I don't miss the "flexable flyers" called the C4. ;)

I have none of the noise from the top which leads me to think it may not have been removed. Also since I only have the glass top I don't want to remove it to find out I'd have to redo the weather stripping before getting it back on again. So for now it will just stay attached, but ti is good to hear about the procedures that work best for the future...............

glass top

Well with a friend we installed the top. I did have one problem with the top. The bolts were loose, and I had to center them on the top. I did apply the rubber with 303. I did install as per your instructions, and did read my manual on how to install the top. It when on easy, and it was centered on the car. I do have one problem. When I lower the windows, and then raise them I do not get a good seal. I end up opening the doors, and then roll up the windows, and get a good seal. Anyway thanks for all your help, and man it looks great. Larry
