Be sure the ground connection for the radio goes to a good ground point, even if you have to run the ground wire to a new connection to the aluminum panel under your dash panel.
How long have you owned the car? Is this a new problem? Do you have 12 v. at the RADIO fuse after you turn off the ignition? If "yes", does the radio go off if you pull that fuse?
There are two pink wires in the circuit. Your comment seems to be referencing the pink between the...
Since your problem only happens occasionally, the problem is probably that the door switches need to be adjusted for more travel. They both need to be "open circuit" switches when the door is closed. Maybe a small spacer could be glued to your door jamb where the switches touch, if the...
May I ask why? The Renegade with CFI should have you running just as good as the later TPI! You might consider going to a 383 if you're looking for more! Your Renegade /CFI can handle it. Any other injection system will require an ECM upgrade, too.
:cool
Code 21 is TPS signal voltage high. Have you verified that the TPS voltage at idle position is very close to 0.525 v. on pin B, with ground probe of your DVM on pin A? (Per '84 FSM, pg. 6E2-68.) The voltage should rise smoothly to a full throttle voltage of about 5.0 v. (FSM pg. 6E2-66)...
As you probably know, the heads are interchangeable left for right. Are you asking about a hole that would be a front mounting hole if that head were installed on the right side? Is it drilled too deep, going into the rocker arm space?
:cool
That's normal. That's the way 4 cycle engines operate.
Are you getting fuel? Have you tried any starting fluid sprayed into the intake? Are you sure ignition timing is correct, with #1 spark plug firing at the top of the compression stroke? Did you rebuild the engine yourself? Are...
You did good! Flowmasters are known for their drone. Some put up with it, because the performance is slightly better, but I would agree with the trade-off you have chosen. The ECM in these cars is pretty good, so it's likely there was some self-tuning after you had driven the car for a...
My first guess would be a bad compressor clutch or a bad secondary fan motor. Disconnect those, then watch your volt meter as you turn on your a/c. If the voltage drops significantly, turn off the a/c. It's something else. Time to see your a/c mechanic again.

I believe there are marks on your tensioner to indicate the proper length belt. The single mark on the moveable arm should be between the two marks on the stationary bracket.
I haven't had problems with Pep Boys. They're just Chevy parts!

That "CTSY LAMP" circuit is quite complex! Without a wiring diagram, you'll have trouble tracing those locations. A common problem: Has a coin slipped into your lighter socket?
To keep from needing a bucket full of fuses during your search, here's a gadget I built to help find a short...
There are three at the battery cable terminal of your starter (Alternator, ignition switch, fuse panel, headlight switch, headlight doors). There is one on the small cable from the + terminal of your battery (Radiator Fan). See pg. 8A-11, 12, 13, & 14 of your '84 FSM.
Do you know anything about the history of this car? If everything is original, there's no reason for the doors to lock when you connect the battery. Nor is there any reason that the fan should come on, either! Something is weird!
Has someone installed a keyless entry system? That might...
That's incredible! Is there any possibility your installation procedure might be improved? Would you be offended if I asked you to describe your procedure? Does the frame for your top fit easily into the mounting holes? Does the front edge of the acrylic top have excessive pressure...
You've just learned otherwise! I added a red light to my dash to indicate when my radiator fan is running. That light may become a mystery to whoever inherits my '84!
