How did you pass smog in Ca with non correct carb?
Any engine mods, like heads, cam, exhaust?
I have an OEM equipped 81 and want too know what I can improve and still pass smog equip and tailpipe gases.
It has been too long ago, when I changed them to remember the brand.
The fronts were perfect size and connector.
the rears where a little thick, but some creative fitting got em in.

The problem started a few months ago.
Nornal start and warm up.

Took a nice cruise and when I got home, heard a "knock" at idle.
A quick investigation found the sound to come from rear pan area.
Temps good, pressure good,.....................................

Yes BB springs are "stronger"
Try loosening the bolts that go thru the upper/lower a frame bushings and retighten when car "settles"
Note to people replacing a frame bushings
leave the bolts loose untill car is off jacks and sitting on its
own weight.
