Rob,
Great exclusive and thanks for providing this to us! I have been hearing rumours in another forum about "problems" with the LS9 as in it can get to the hp ******* but they cannot keep it together (whatever that means). Any news on any issues happening at this stage? :confused
OK, for those of us looking to buy a Z06 this spring, new or used...here is your chance to prove what year is the best production C6 Zo6 and why!!!:upthumbs
Can anyone give me a real breakdown on which of these is:
a) the better approach from a ease of installation viewpoint?
b) less likely to cause problems with the engine?
c) a more efficient solution for autocross/regular driving
I would like to hear from anyone who has real-world knowledge...
I just took mine out today while the streets were dry and cold. How's -5 strike you? Heated seats and a great heater! I warm it up outside for 45 minutes every week or so but today is the first I have driven it. Went about 8 miles to let it get good and warm.:cool
I did have to take it really...
I agree. I have never really liked a Caddy that much until the XLR and this is really great. Also agree about the cheezy parts of the steering wheel but I do really like the outer shape and material. Would love that one one my C6 along with that engine!:cool
Is this a mule for sale?
BTW, did you note this statement: "GM AND BARRETT-JACKSON MAKES NO WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, CONCERNING THE VEHICLE (INCLUDING NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE). SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY"
Neither...
I'm certainly not saying that there is no substance to the new Vette...I'm saying there darn well better be! The hyping of it is excessive/overblown til we do see some hard *******. Those ******* include actual horsepower, the Nordschleife and other track times, drag strip times, and last but...
Hype machine
I love Corvettes, I have one, and I waited a long time to own one but I'm sorry, there is just way tooo much hype about the ZR1, for example...no coating costs $60k a gallon! If it did, a carbon-fiber fender would cost less than the coating that goes on it! Like other Corvettes...
The writer is throwing this statement in as a way to make us think that GM is cancelling the program based on this bill. I see no other info that would point to this as the reason. :confused
You can bet that money was the greatest driver. If anything, development of new V8 engine technology...
The richest collectors to set pricing for the new ZR1!
First off, I am not against any donations (large or small) to the United Way so please, no flaming. We should all donate as much as we can, as often as we can.:upthumbs
If this rumor is true, let's not paint this as anything but a warm...
When will people realize this isn't a liberal or conservative issue? BTW, isn't the governor of Calif. a republican who wants to sue the EPA? ;)
;squint: I highly recommend that you go to China for a month and see what little or no air/water quality regulations can do to your quality of life...
To everyone talking about the demise of Vette performance because of air quality rules...just remember that there are lots of other high-performance possibilities that could come in the future that will make todays Corvette look very slow.
I have a Camry hybrid and a Vette and love them both...
:D Would I take one? In a heartbeat. I'm sure that it will be more than an amazing car to drive and it is great looking, BUT...to me that is the minimum expectation. I'm glad they put Magnetic Selective ride as standard and the list of other standard equipment is really impressive.
;squint: At...
It's a great article and very well done. I just wouldn't have expected to see GM talk this freely and in this level of detail about it, complete with excellent and very detailed photos. When you consider how closely they protect other information it just is a bit surprising, thats all. My guess...
;)
OK ya caught me. Let me ask a different question. The coupe and the Z of course, are not the same. I guess the question ultimately is...can the convertible frame handle the Z's power and still be as (or close to as)solid on the track? If not, why not? A 2007 Ferrari F430 Spider makes 490 hp...
Thanks for all the feedback guys. I am just pondering what the future of the Corvette convertible is with all the additional power being thrown out there. I would hate to see the Z06 and new ZR-1 be coupe-only models forever. We convertible lovers want in on the action too, especially since we...
