Thanks for the info...I found the switch and will try it out today when I get home. IF the switch don't work I will push it up slowly...No, I tried just turning off the car but my lights stay on, and retract when I push in the switch. My 78 is hard to work on sometimes but well work the effort.
I need to replace on of the headlights on my 78. Before I mess something up I need HELP. How do I get the headlight asembly to stay open/up while I work on it? I have read about a manual headlight switch...does this exist on my 78? I think I can get the bulb out...I just need help
My 78 has a hissing/vacuum noise coming from the heater control. I keep the temp control knob all the way cold/left and have to secure it to the fan control swithch to keep the hissing noise (not very loud) down. If I move the control knob to the right or even unfasten it the hissing starts...
Changes oil in my 78 couple months ago. You should use the posi trac oil, 4 oz you can get from NAPA outo parts. I used 80-90 wt oil to full. My rear end was making lots of noise but none since the change. I think the posi trac oil is the key. Get all you can out with a good suction gun.
My 78 did that same thing last week. It had to sit out in the rain for a few hours and when I went to get in it to go home al interior lights were on. However, while driving home lights finally started to flicker and went out, have not had trouble since. May have been moisture. Glad I know...
My automatic transmission has a clicking noise in first gear only. As the car starts to roll the clicking noise begins and speeds up with the RPM until the shift to second gear where the noise goes away. I changed the trans oil and filter to no avail. Any ideas or help would be appreciated...
