I am looking at putting a chrome alt on my '73 but have been told I will have to rewire some items if I go with a 100 amp since mine is a 42 amp output. Is this true? I am shopping at Summit and can't find a smaller one in chrome.

I have read about the charcoal canister associated with the fuel tank on my '73 but didn't know anything about it. When I traced the line from the rollover valve, it appears to go to the vacume tank in the left front fender?! Are they one in the same?

I have a pertronix ignition in my '73 so I have a direct 12v from the batt to the pos side of the coil when the key is on. Recently, I accidently left the key on overnight and now the alt gauge doesn't seem to be working correctly. System is charging but what could cause the gauge to not work...
