Sold my 64 several months ago and have the following items I thought I'd give all the forum members a shot at before I put them up on eBay:
65 - 67 Console Shifter Plate - I bought this on eBay but never installed on my car. It is in great condition and is not a repo. Its all cleaned up and...
1964 CHEVROLET CORVETTE, 1964 Corvette Convertible Stingray in great condition. Recently installed late model 350 crate engine aluminum intake and Demon Carb. Recent complete suspension rebuild to include QA1 Coilover shocks on front, TRW rear Monospring, Bilstien Shocks on rear. Muncie 4...
I am cleaning out my garage and will be posting various parts I have before placing on eBay. To start, I have a steering shock assembly for manual steering cars. It is in great shape, cleaned and ready for primer and paint. I can email a picture if anyone is interested. Make me an offer......
Thought I would update everyone on the results of this project. The QA1 Coilover kit has been installed. I replaced all the front suspension bushings with OEM Style Rubber. And the verdict is ......... I am really pleased with the ride. Now for the Positives and Negatives.
Positives
The...
Thanks guys. That was my thought process too. I have one side with minimal shims and the other with a boatload of shims. I will set up accordingly.
I went with the QA1 coilover setup. I am anxious to get it completed and road test.
I agree Tom. What is too stiff for some, may be perfect for others. I have spent quite a few dollars trying to get the ride I am looking for. Each change though is making it more to my liking.
Hi everyone,
I am in the process of installing my new Coilover (front) Shocks. While I am at it, I am also freshening up the a-arm bushings, ball joints, etc. My question is pertaining to the upper a-arm shaft. The new shaft has an offset (approx 5 deg) and the original shaft did not have this...

I think the part numbers on the shocks themselves are different. I'll try to chekc them this evening when I get home.
Hi Lucky13,
Over the past couple of years I have tried several different types. The car came with KYBs when I purchased it. It had the original leaf spring in the rear and coil springs on front. The front had been re-bushinged with poly bushings. The ride was a bit too stiff for me. I made a...
Thanks for the input everyone. I ordered the QA1 Front Coilover Kit yesterday....anxiously awaiting their arrival. Will give an update once installed on how I like them.
First, I'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts and feedback.
Groovyjay, you bring up a point that I have been pondering as well. I spoke with a shop here in Houston that has installed both the VB&P front leaf spring kit as well as the QA1 Coilover conversion. The guy I talked to said...
That was what I initially thought, but I had saw an ad in one of the Corvette magazines that said they now offered a bolt on coilover replacement for the original coil spring and shock. I called them and they confirmed this. Basically, the only modification is to drill out the lower shock...
Thanks for the replies 66 Red Rocket and Stepinwolf. Sounds like I may be going in the right direction as my goal is to improve the ride.
One other consideration I came across last night and that is QA1 now has a coilover setup that would replace the factory style coil spring. Did a search in...
Greetings everyone,
I am thinking of doing an overhaul (or upgrade) to the front suspension of my 64. Noticed this weekend that one of the coil springs is a bit lower than the other. I've come up with a couple of options:
1. Rebuild entire suspension and replace coil springs
or
2. Go with...
I did a lot of research on this and other forums on this very question. The numerous hoses on the stock system and (potential) leaking problems that came with all those components caused me to steer away from that route. The Steeroids version also seemed to have some issues, albeit none seemed...
