Still think it is too small and I should have went bigger, taller, and second story.
My GS is my second vette, and I don't think I will sell it. I have kept my 85 and drive it daily, but will trade it up for another GS someday. It is much more fun to drive between the 100 some extra HP over the L98, rowing the gears, and the sound. And yeah because it garners much more...
Go bigger if you can. You have more stuff than I do, I just put up a 32' x 60' x 12', I only have the shell up, no concrete. Already I wish I had made it 40' x 60' x 14'. I am going to add a 16' x 50' lean-to on the one side for storage once I get the whole garage done and outfitted.
This is...
Skant,
I recently bought a GS with the ZF transmission. My first ride in a car of this type. I drove the car 300 miles the first day to get it home, and by the time I got home, I was kind of concerned about not only the whine from the transmission but the significant heat coming from the...
I had to change the starter in my 85 in a McDonalds parking lot 180 miles from home. I didn't remove the fly wheel guard or oil lines. I removed the two mounting bolts first, then let the starter hang down so I could get to the electrical connections.
Agreed, the Felpro Blue one-piece gasket from Auto Zone was pretty simple to install, no messing with trying to hold it in place. The plastic screws work great.
The only trouble I had was taking the pan down. one of the connecting rod bolts hit on the edge of the pan at the front. I had to...
Only three others have driven our cars besides my wife and I. It seems as if everytime someone drives my 85 (which has only been my wife and my sister) something breaks. Not because they do something wrong, I think it is just because the car doesn't like anyone else driving it. Twice I've...
I'm with Dawn, my master cylinder went out exactly the same way. One day fine, the next right to the floor. The next panic pump and it came back up. I actually drove gently for a week as it got progressively worse, it would work on the second or third pump. Replaced the master cylinder and...
I just bought my GS on ebay, the seller was super nice and everything went off without a hitch. Talk to the seller, check his feedback and other transactions. Get a carfax on the car. Look at the car yourself or lineup someone to inspect it. If anything seems funny, walk away.
There are lots...
Do you have the heater control cable disconnected? The box is a tight fit and if I remember had to be rotated a little to be slid out of the dash. It only comes out one way and brute force didn't make it come out. I remember being there for 45 minutes trying to get it out.
Do you have the...
It took retouching about 40 solder joints on the power supply board to fix the dash on my 85, the external ground wouldn't have helped in my case either.
Thanks for venting here, I think Ecklers is the most complained about vendor on this forum. I don't use them unless I absolutely can't find the part anywhere else. Their only redeeming point at the moment, they have a huge catalog of available parts.
Try this thread, you have to unthread the T-bar. I've not done this, but I can almost visualize it from the instructions.
Good Luck!

I haven't had time lately to drive my car just to drive it. I drive it every day to work, rain or shine, but it is only 3 miles to work, so even then, there isn't much time to enjoy the ride.
But even with all of that, it is still a vette, so it is enjoyable no matter what!
