I just purchased a right hand exhaust manifold for my 56, GM part #3731558. It does not have a date on the back side. The LH I have is dated. How can I tell if the RH is original or a newly manufactured part? Thanks for your help.

The front aluminum header on my 56 hardtop was painted when I purchased the car. I understand this strip should not be painted. What is the best way to remove the paint without distrubing the other paint on the hardtop? Thanks.

I recently purchased a 1956 distributor and it was advertised as having the correct flat spot on the shaft. The part number is 1110879 which is correct for my 56, but what is so important about this "flat spot"? Thanks for your help.
