replacement cam
I'm looking to get a replacement cam for my mostly stock LT-1. I would like to stay as close to spec as original, but also wouldn't mind gaining a few extra ponies...
Any suggestions?
Assuming the block & casting numbers are correct...what is an easy way to tell if an LT-1 has solid lifters? Yes, I know all LT-1's came with solid lifters, but how do you tell by looking at the engine?
I just got a copy of Desktop Dyno & plugged in the numbers for a stock LT-1 and found that the HP & torque numbers are pretty close to what GM advertised. Desktop Dyno gave me 265HP @ 5500 & 246 HP at 6000, a stock '72 LT-1 is 255 HP @ 5600 RPM's.
So I started playing around...I found that if...
I was reinstalling my tank the other day & thought I'd share some tips for those of you how are gonna be removing/installing your tanks. I've read other posts where some guys placed jackstands or used jacks to lift the tank into place. I tried this & it was a pain in the butt...It gave me less...
I'd like to build a garage/large storage shed underneath my deck...as cheaply as possible. I'm not looking to have insulated, just dry.
I have a 10x20' to work with & have about 8' of height. I need advice on how to waterproof under the deck. How do I keep it dry without building another roof...
My car will be NCRS judged on May 1 & on May 2 I plan on beginning my engine removal. :D Right now, I'd like to gather all the parts & info I need to begin without running to the parts store.
It leaks oil from all over the place & I'd like to replace all the gaskets...plus repaint the block & do...
Can anybody tell me & maybe put up a pic of how & where I adjust my air/fuel mixture on my 4150? It's running a little rich...wanna lean it up a bit. I have the little red Holley Handbook, but I need a more guidance.
Thanks,
Tony
Wooooo!
I just got a package last night with a bunch of recipts from the previous owner along with the vehicle title of the owner prior to him! I'm psyched, especially after having my car for over a year! I'm considering how to go about contacting them...What I have is a PA title that shows the...
What do they do? How do they increase performance? Can I install them on a stock LT-1? What kind of tools are needed to get this done? How complicated is the install? What can break if the install is not done correctly?
Thanks!
I know these are discontinued, but where can I get some without paying a premium?
Coming from an NCRS standpoint...does this even matter? Could I go with the newer PF-454? (I think) filter...? And get the same points?
Check out this ebay auction & the pics of this cars interior...

I have a stock points distributor...I am considering getting a rev limiter. I don't know much about them other than you can limit your RPM's. Last summer I was working on my car...I don't now what I did...and all of a sudden I heard the RPMS FLY! I think I got the accelerator stuck. Anyways, to...
I spotted a leak coming from my PS ram so I got the rebuild kit for it from Zip...but it didn't come with directions like it said on the website. Any tips on how to do this or get started? I called Zip and they will fax directions...in the meantime I'd like to get going. Thanks!
So my rear strut rod busings look to be all dried up & worn. I'd like to replace them...Looking at the judging guide, it says "Service replacement strut rod busings are different design than original equipment. When installed this difference is not visible, and results in no judging penalty." So...
I plan on getting my car judged next year...I have not yet had it judged so I don't know exactly where I stand, but my car is fairly original. I would like to pull the engine this winter to replace all the gaskets, maybe get a valve job, paint the block, get the exhaust manifolds looking they...
Why is it that there were different heads placed on the (72) LT-1?
I looked up what I have... 3998993, I can see the # when I remove the oil filler cap. From the research I've done, the valve sizes on these are 1.72/1.50 or 1.94/1.50...which would they be? Also, I see that other castings were...
