smog pump for a '72

Are these supposed to have a date code stamped on them, what about the rest of the smog pump related components?

The pump has a julian-type date code stamped on a machined area on one of the aluminum housing ribs. I don't remember if the diverter valve is date-coded or not; post the question over on the NCRS Board and someone can explain the format of the stamped date code on the pump housing.

Yes... The diverter valve has a date code also (at least on 74's) The end cap over the muffler section is sort of a gold dichromate finish (mine is tarnished, it's hard to tell). The date code and part is stamped here.
