The first book I would get is the Assembly Manual that you can get from most of the Corvette parts houses. I have always found it invaluable in researching whats right, whats wrong and how things should be.

This has been an interesting read since I am just about to do the fluid change again. I have always used the GM lube and additive but I continue to have the "noise" from the rear end.

Check the fusible link at the starter....the brown wire a couple gauges smaller than the 10R....u might have 12 volts at the starter from the battery but it sounds like the link is blown and that pumps power back to the fuse block...

I bought from them ages ago when I replaced my harnesses.
Give them a shot. They had great tech support when I ran into installation difficulties
