contrary to what every one says inc Chev, they can be and often are resurfaced, I know a very experienced Chev/Corvette tech who does it frequently with no problems. Scuff that one up with some sand paper and put it back in. My .02
it is the 12 volt supply for the solenoide, the part is serviced by GM and is used on a number of ATs, i bought one last year but don't have the part number. frank

that 4/3 can be repaired to work correctly, often the problem is people bandaiding them and then they create greater problems. I did mine recently, followed the book and had some guidance from David Fulcher and It is perfect..yours is an 86 and does not have all the problems the early ones...
it should be a relativly easy swap, you just need to get the shift linkage and other related parts, all of it except the lingage is typical GM stuff, what are you going to do with the 4/3, take care over there.
I'm in the process of doing just that, I bought a kit with hard and soft discs from a place in Orlando, 150.00, but hey are available at most trans parts houses, theseare not a retial type parts place, just tansmission parts...
