I tried uploading a pic, but would have to massage it smaller in size. How about if I post the info?

My L81 was born with rwl, so she still wears them. My other car had them and I went black walls with new tires, but I will try to get those tire letter kits they sell.
Tom,
it seemed that she could run faster (and did in the few occasions I commanded her to do so), but acceleration was crisp, and acceleration from a stop is much better. The cam has the same L81 valve timing, but more lift. Gross lift around 0.550”.
Now she she is ready for a CAC Cruise. 😝😬😬
I just got back from an 1,100 mile trip in Gail, and wow, she performed flawlessly. Averaged consistently 16 MPG on the return leg. The first leg was a bit less because I installed last the distributor shield, and I inadvertently knocked the manifold vacuum signal tube off the carb. Smh
I also...
Thanks Tom. I think you may be right. The gauge lights are off now, and the temp gauge working. Just having a dark center cluster.
But she ran awesomely for 398 miles today. Temperature, oil pressure, oil temp, charging system working great, and even got 15 miles per gallon at 76-77 MPH...
Originality is great, but updating components ensures longer life
Hello folks, I have been waiting for the right time to repair Gail’s engine....again. The number three exhaust cam lobe went flat. So this time, I got a roller cam with the L81 valve timing and a bit more lift.
I’ll be driving...
Personally, I think the magic number is closer to $30K. Has anyone decoded (not decided ) the VIN? Does it shed any light on options and what not?
Hello folks,
i saw this car for sale at a local swap meet. I believe the old lady told me that it belonged to her brother. The engine is supposedly a, "warranty dealer replacement", and she believes she has paperwork related to the car. I want to say the car was originally Mulsanne Blue, but I...
I regret for my post in while to be bearing sad news, but Chas' (Charlie) wife Theresa, passed away. I believe it was unexpectedly, for he texted me that his son Ben (look up Chas' postings about his son Ben's exploits in the Army; he is now an H-60G pilot; graduated top of his class, with about...
Yeah Bill,
It is a bad way to learn that if you want a cam that won't so easily do that, you'll have to order it hardened. Smh
i am thinking of using a retrofit roller cam this time.

Hello folks!!
Hi guys!
Gail has a flat #3 exhaust cam lobe. I have not removed the engine yet, but since I had removed the cylinder heads for a rebuild, the short block still sitting the there. It is a complete tear down to make sure the metal is cleaned out.
I hope everyone has had a great...
Peter,
Now she has a problem with the wiring. She loses all electrical power erratically and lately, often.
I I am yet to get in to see where the problem is. I'm imagining that perhaps either the positive wire (as you know, running under the body towards the starter) or the ground wire may...
I finally spent sometime removing starter, heatshields, ohmming distributor wires, replacing sparkplugs, and inspecting for a crappy miss the car has had.
The only problem I found was in the #6 cylinder/sparkplug.
The vette is not smoking, but it could be a piston ring problem or valve...
Bill,
The low fuel module had stopped working long before; however, I had placed one of those low priced ones, but it never worked right. Perhaps it was a sign that the sending unit was begining to fail (perhaps a few ohms were creeping up and affecting the low fuel warning), but not the fuel...
4-year old thread comes back again...
Hello everyone,
As Corvette owners, we suffer through the lack of space, and therefore, how easy a task is. You won't believe how pleasant my surprise was, when I realized that changing the fuel sending unit was going to be a snap.
Gail's fuel sending...
