I have a C5 '04 All Black coupe with the translucent top. The sun is a bit annoying, and since I hate wearing a baseball cap in the Vette...Would window film work(also for the hatchback window?), or should I investigate the body color top for an alternate, or should I just quit whining?:confused

Most of the parts suppliers (like Ecklers, Mid America, West Coast etc) sell a film made just for the glass tops. I believe that its removable thereby offering an advantage over the window tint film. Tops seem to run around $500 and (way) up so I would try to live with the film, unless you really want 2 tops.

I got a static cling one from West Coast Corvettes for like $25. Works great, and is removable if you want in the winter.

I did not realize that the sun was so bright in the UP . . . just kidding . . some of my friends are from UP and them Yuppers are great people . . . I was told before I got mine that the see through top would do what you describe. . . yes it does bother me too . . . not my first see through top too . . . other see through tops do not bother me . . strange . . . I am looking for an OEM top (fiberglass) so I can have the choice. I would not go with an NON OEM . . . anyone have one that they want to sell ? It would be a miracle to find an OEM for a 2004 CE LeMans blue . . . I hope I hope

I agree with the static cling. Quick & inexpensive. Although it does strange things to your hair.

Thanks for your help, y'all! I ordered the "Cling on" type from Eckler's last night. To rectify the hair problem I'm going to tape a bunch of "Bounce" sheets to my haid. Hope to start a new fashion trend.

I have an 04 coupe with the glass top. The sun was a little too much. A friend of mine with a 98 warned me. He tried the stick on stuff but it always fell down. I started looking for a hard top. I looked on Ebay and used the search words "corvette top". I saw several in a short period of time that were within a couple of hundred miles. They went in the 300 to 450 range. Then I got real lucky and posted a wanted to buy WTB on another forum for Corvettes. I found a brand new one (50 miles on it) for $250 and I jumped. I will have to have it repainted but that is what I did. I hope your cure works but if you really want to solve the problem you may want to go the route I did.

There are always painted tops on ebay, most colors. The beauty is that all C5 tops fit all years. You can get them cheap and repaint to match your color. I buy and sell on ebay so contact me if you want to know where to look. Dave
