Alright I went to IRR last night and was only able to get 2 runs in before they shut the track down. I have to say it was incredibly busy, most of the cars being the "To fast to furious" crowd. The temp was 82 degress at 9:30 pm with 80% humidity (not the best race conditions to say the least).

run 1
reaction: .7962
60 ft: 2.0851
330 ft: 5.8921
1/8 et: 9.0341
1/8 mph: 78.75

I spun the tires

run 2
reaction: .6256
60 ft: 2.1486
330 ft: 5.9304
1/8 et: 9.0418
1/8 mph: 81.01

On this run it spun the tires big time, and when it shifted to second broke the rear tires loose again (even pitched the rear end sideways a little in second). On run 2 I dropped the tire pressure to 25lbs., but other than that it was exactly how I drove it to the track.

Now as a point of reference, a 2003 C5 ran 8.96 and an 8.98. I talked to the guy and he had a full Borla cat-back and CAI. On run 2 I raced a 2004 Mustang Mach 1, his time was 9.4477 at 79.89 mph. combined with my reaction time on that run, my margin of victory over the Mustang was .9709 (can you say spanked him!!!)

All in all, I would have liked to have seen some 8.8's, with the weather what it was and judging what everyone else was running I'm pretty happy with the results. Oh by the way there were 7 LS1 Camaros and T/A's, and my old LT1 motor was putting better times down than all of them except 1 T/A and he was only running 8.9's

How did those Fast & Furious guys do?:L

Looks like you had fun, now start modding to get that time down! :D

The fastest guy from the TFTF crowd that I saw, was an Acura Integra with nitrous, and managed a 9.9. Most of them were in the 10's and 11's. I try not to be a drag strip snob, but they have no race etiquete (sp?). They would do burnouts and ride through the lights, completely stage their car before the other racer even finished his burnout etc. etc. real amatuer stuff. I made sure that I didn't stage next to them because of that (even though I would have loved to smoke them :L)

Hey Greg...
I saw you there, but couldn't catch up with you. Things were crazy to say the least. I was running my Duramax dually (incidentally, best run was 9.95 @ 70.96 MPH), and couldn't agree more with ya about the lack of etiquette present. Some of it extended to the track "officials" as well. I had "DEEP" plainly displayed on three windows, and it was only on the last two runs (I got five in) that they actually gave me time to deep stage. You did alright, though....Low 9's are nothing to be ashamed of at all, especially considering conditions.

BTW...did you see the blue nitrous-fed C4 there run? I saw it go 6.35, but didn't catch the MPH. Easy to see when the nitrous hit (right around the 50ft mark). Something to consider....;)

Bob, I did see that blue C4, he was seriously fast! I was going to call you monday. Could you order me BFGoodrich Drag Radials for my car, 275-40-17's, also want to talk to you about shocks, maybe some adjustable 90/10's or something. I also got the Nitrous bug, we'll talk about that on monday also. There you go again being a bad influence :D
