ran my best 60' tonight with a 1.887! ran my highest MPH also with a 104.65 mph shot. also ran my quickest ET to date 13.315! i should of had 2 13.2x passes but driver error played a part in the runs :(

First Run:

Temp 43
Humidity 55
Baro 30.13

R/T .104
60' 1.980
330 5.599
1/8 8.589
MPH 83.35
1000 11.209
1/4 13.405
MPH 104.65

this was a good run but it should of been quicker and a bit faster. i staged the car as shallow as i could and got on the brake to bring the stall up and crept thru the beams not only once but twice! settled down and launched. i think the 60' would of been mid 1.8's easily if it wasn't for me trying to get full stall at 1600 rpm. MPH might of touched 105 with a high 13.2x pass. the car did not spin at all!

Second Run:
Temp 42
Humidity 63
Baro 30.15

R/T .022
60' 1.887
330 5.492
1/8 8.495
MPH 83.41
1000 11.103
1/4 13.313
MPH 100.82

man i thought this was gonna be the 13.2 pass :( the car launched real strong and i overwound 2-3 shifting at 5300 rpm which cost me a few hundred. somewhere i lost atleast 2-4 mph. after the first shot i was hoping for 105 mph with a good launch. the car still did not spin :)

Temp 42
Humidity 61
Baro 30.15

R/T -.009
60' 1.943
330 5.540
1/8 8.536
MPH 83.52
1000 11.142
1/4 13.352
MPH 100.81

this run just flat out sucked. for some reason i didn't get a good burnout to heat the tires which in this cold air they needed! also only 1 tire spun over. this only happens every once in awhile maybe 1 out of 20 or so runs. staged the car and stalled out at 1400 rpm launched out and spun halfway thru first gear. man! i was hoping i'd crack into the 13.2 range tonight :(

only 1 wed night test and tune open at cecil and with school on wed nights i can't take another night off to go after it so this will have to wait till a saturday that i can get up there cause i don't see me hitting 13.2's at capitol, the local track i usually race out. they don't prep the track at all on friday nights or any other night :( 2 weeks ago there i was hitting 1.90x 60' times but only running 13.5's for some reason but running consistent 102.5 mph runs.

i am getting a set of TPiS long tube headers in a few weeks and going to put in my AFPR then go after a 12.9x run. if i have time before ole man winter steps in and shuts the tracks down i'll have Jeff tune my chip and hopefully pick up more ET :D

Congrats Mad Mic!

It seems your times are getting better each time you go to the track!

I know for sure you'll cross the 13s line with the long tube headers and jeff chip. After that, you won´t believe what a nice improvement is the rear axle mod. I went from 2.59 to 3.54 and you can really feel it in the pants dyno! (same thing happened with the headers mod)

Keep us posted and good luck!

Thanks George!

i'm thinking 12.8's or maybe better *fingers crossed* i'll definetly let you guys know in a month when i get it all together.

not looking to go with gears yet. no use doing a gear swap in a D36 and don't have to 2k to do a D44 swap yet. that will be my last mod unless i break this rear. but with a stock 1600 rpm stall i don't see that happening with the 2.59's she's just not hitting the tires hard enough to break it. the reason i am getting the good 60' times is i'm stalling out and preloading the rear as much as possible which minimizes breakage especially with a low stall speed.

You're right about the rear axle mod! There where two reasons I've done it;

1.- It was becoming an habit to reach the top speed in my vette with the 2.59, I did the first time 162 mph and two times latter 165 mph. (all in one month and everybody was telling me I was crazy, maybe I am) it was almost stock, 23k miles, no cats. K&N, open lid and the Magnaflows only.

2.- I did not get the E/Ts I wanted (like yours). I had better times with the '91 L98 and same mods.

It was early this year and I'd have more mods to come so, to finish with the 165 miles plus highway temptation at every mod and to get more at the 1/4 5,500+fts altitude track we have down here I did the rear axle change in the Dana 36.

One low $ mod that I do recommend you is the ignition MSD6A Control Unit. It works great in my vette!

See you soon!
