after careful calculations it will take approxamately 10.000 beans to trade up to a C5...
thats a lot of coin ..and im not too sure that it's 10,000 dollors more car
can you dig..?:cool
:w

Money comes hard and goes fast :D A corvette is a toy and in most cases is not a necessity .If your nervous ya might want to wait.

Is it worth $10,000 more ,yes .Having had a 69,87,03 , and stepping up to an 08 each set was worth it for me.That said the C4 was a great car and certainly nothing to be ashamed of.

Take your time and feel comfortable with your decission.:D Good luck

That's just about what mine cost me, and for me, it was worth the difference. Don't get me wrong, I loved my 94...wish I could have kept it, but there's just no room in the stable for two. The newer one just made sense for me at this time.

If I we're you (which i'm not :D ) I'd keep what you have .My case is that the C6 is my company car and I drive it 20,000 miles or more a year not 1000.:D

I might be inclined to just keep the C4.:thumb

Make a move on that C5, why is everyone sitting on their hands? The media is the ones who is telling you the world is coming to an end and save every penny. Get out and spend get this economy moving and step up to a wider smoother fast vette, or mod the piss out of your C4 and you will kick the crap out of the C5 with your C4.:thumb

two words.....
Whipped cream....lol:cool

Upgrade to a C5? Yes they are nice looking cars, yes they have an updated engine, yes they probably ride a little more refined. But I dont think I would "upgrade" to a discontinued model. Don't get me wrong, I loved them when they came out, I wanted 1 for a long time, but they have already been improved upon again with the C6.

ive done the math on that one also
if i were financing it would be a no brainer..
3.9%..for 84 months...
with a C4 trade in brings you home for under 500 a month..plus insurance..
thats for the base model with a 6 spd auto paddle shift...( a must have if ya ask me)
only 430 horse power...will blow away every vette built previous...lol
but..i am also in love with C3s....so im kinda vette challenged..
i bought the 92 as a around town daily driver for cheap and it works just fine..the C3 would take a lot of up keep like an old harley and the C6 is payment payments payments..for loooong time...no thanks..
the C5 upgrade is feasable but im not sure its worth it..so ill just hang right here and watch and see..
perhaps next year the prices will fall more and i can scoop up another bargin...we will see.
thanx

If you need to finance then you cant afford it. I also had the "fever" to "upgrade" to a C-5 or possibly a 2005 C-6. I started counting the cash I would need in addition to my C-4. Needless to say, the cash felt better in my hand than in a dealers, and the C-4 looks just as nice in my driveway as the C-5 or even C-6. I guess O like having both, the $$ and the car.

The US would not be in this mess if everyone lived within thier means. Keep the c-4 and save what you would have spent on a pmt.

Fever hit me again.... for a while.
I drove by a dealer today and there was a 2003 50th package vert. sitting there. I got to wondering just how long it would take my wife to realize I had a new Vette with the 50th in the garage versus the 40th:cool (it took her about a week to realize I replaced the 1966 deere 110 with a new x300 deere) Anyways the car had a bout 20K miles more than mine but it was clean. Sales guy says "lets go for a drive" so of course not one to turn down a chance to drive a Vette we did. This is the first time for me driving a C5 and it was a nice car but I was a little underwelmed.. Yes it rode nice and was quiet, had a trunk but I think it was not any quicker nor did it handel that much better. So for 20K more miles I was loosing intrest UNLESS the price was right. You guessed it, They would trade for $10K. If they would have said $5K maybe but again I like having that cash too much!

amen , brother, :w

Bucket, when I got my 2000, it was my first Vette. I spent $26,500 to "trade up", and because I've wanted a Vette since 1963, it DAMN SURE WAS WORTH IT! The Vette "lives" in Florida, and my wife and I live (and work) in Massachusetts, so as a consequence it only gets driven while we are in Florida which amounts to about 3K per year. It's the only car we've got in Florida, so that makes it our daily driver while we are there, and we wouldn't have it any other way. 3 years or so till retirement, then it'll be our REAL daily driver. Bottom line..........if you like what ya got, and think that 10 G's is too much to upgrade, by all means keep the C4! And no matter what you get (or keep), enjoy each and every mile that passes under the tires! :thumb
