I Have A 12pak Cd Player In My '01 And It Won't Play Nor Eject When I Open The Slide Door The Stereo Shop Tells Me Its Dead ? He Also Says There Is No Offset Replacement ? It Is A Pioneer Factory Unit.
Any One Know Of A Replacement /

Try unplugging it from the wire harness and plug it back in. When it first gets power it will check each CD. This seems like it takes forever. It it is dead you can find them on eBay. I bought one for $47.

Unfortunately this is quite common. There is only one possible "after-market" replacement: a NEOCHANGER. Don't waste your money on it. They are terrible. Be cautious on buying a used one on E-bay. You could well be purchasing someone elses "locked up" changer.

Mine locked up as you have described. I had mine re-build for about $175. It's been working great ever since!

Aren't aftermarket stereo units in the $200-250 range for a pretty good one? I got an Alpine 10 disc changer installed for $200 a few years ago. The stock stereo units leave a lot to be desired in the Corvette's

You are correct. The problem, however, is that most after-market changers can not be controlled by the stock BOSE head unit.

Ah, so you'd have to buy an aftermarket head unit as well?

Most folks would suggest that if you want to start upgrading the stock BOSE system (head unit, changer, back and door speakers) you would be better off pulling the whole stock system out and building from scratch. Most of the BOSE system will only support the BOSE proprietary components and not any after-market manufacturers.

That stinks!

How much would it cost to do all of it to a decent sounding system?
