It looks outstanding. If I were to get my 54 out right now I would have to drag it out. It has 2 flat tires on the drivers side, no motor in it, and a heck of al lot of parts stripped off of it. I should pretty much finish stripping it out this weekend. But when it goes back together it will look completely different. It will be a 54 Corvair Motorama Car.
I do like the look of the hard top on your 54 it makes it look rich in color and body lines.

I have been following the progress on your car Mike. I like the latest story about you and your Grandson. :w
I'm the guy who came to see you at Kissimmee to look at the hardtop and footman straps that you sold to Tyler T.

Roger, I remember you. Sorry about selling the things out from under you but first person who puts down the $$$ get it. I was offered more $$$$ for the top then Tyler paid me for it but I made a deal with him and I am a man of my word so I could not break it. Had you put a deposit on the top and footman straps then you would have been the owner. Anyway that is water under the bridge. I do like the looks of your car with that top on it. It makes the lines of the car stand out and look rich. My grandson was a big help and he wants to do more and I am glad for two reasons. One is that I have a bad back and it is easier for him to get up under the dash and undo things then it is for me and two, he gets to spend more time with just he and I. He lives in a one parent
family home. So I am kind of the father figure for him plus it is good for him to learn about the old cars. Heck my 32 yr old son don't care about the Corvettes so maybe if I kick the bucket I will leavethe Corvettes to my grandson. That is a :cool!: idea.Think I will change my will. Oh yeah, my grandson and I will be workinhg on the car again this Sunday. He wanted my to wait to work on it till he could come and help.

Hey Mike

Get someone to take pictures of you and your Grandson so that he will have something to put with the memories when your gone. How old is he anyway? My 2 Grandson's are 1 1/2 and 2 1/2, and they like taking things apart but haven't gotten to the "I like to put them back together" stage yet. I'm waiting patiently.............

Gone, where am I going? Just kidding, none of us last forever althought I told my wife I will live forever. That is a good idea about thking his pic with me working on the car. He can also show his friends. I will not post his pic on the internet anywhere. His mom don't want me to. I understand why she don't want me to. It is because of all the (lets say) strange people who do things with kid pic's. He is 11 and is doing a good job helping me. Not sure how he will be when it comes time to put it all back together. We will see. I didn't mean to hijack this thread. It is about Rogers 54 Vette, not mine.

Mike, it was OK that you were able to sell the stuff to Tyler..
Took the 54 out for a nice long drive today. :w

Your 54 looks outstanding. Tyler only bought the top, footman straps and deck lid female latches. The transmission went to a guy in northern Mississippi and the rear end went to a guy in Washington State. Everything else that I don't need including 6 extra carbs and spare tire and wheel and other things went to a guy in northern ILLinois. My 11 year old grandson has been helping me strip the car out and is pretty much stripped out. Just waiting to take it to Brett and put in his shop and take the body off and sandblast the frame and powder coat it. Then there will be a lot of work on the body to make it look correct. It will be fun.
Keep driving your 54, I know there are a lot of people looking at you when you have it out for a cruise.

Thanks Mike, I try to drive her as much as possible. :w Today was one of those days.

I took the 54 out for a drive again today. In a few more days the yellow pine pollen will be as thick as a West Texas dust storm. Certainly won't want to have to clean that stuff off.
It gets everywhere. :w

Even though it was quite windy last Saturday, I took the 1954 Corvette over to Rocky Mount NC to be with other Corvettes. :w
