Chevrolet Corvette, ...body off restoration...painted and detailed underneath, immaculate inside and out. 275hp 327 V8 engine, uprated heads, Holley carb, 4 speed Borg Warner T10 transmission, new soft top, original hardtop, American Racing Thrust D alloy wheels, 225/60VR15 radials, new leather seats and door panels, optional interior courtesy light, painted and detailed trunk compartment, completely rebuilt suspension and four wheel disc brakes, immaculate engine bay detailing. Actually, immaculate inside and out.

All in all, a wonderful collector's car offered well below market value.

Was this car ever sold?
I hope I am wrong, but given that they have only posted 4 times, I am guessing that they are not a regular viewer here. Other forums have gotten around this by requiring a minimum of 25 posts before selling items...makes a lot of sense. The forum is for members, not people that just want to dash in and sell something and then dash back out......again, I hope I am wrong, but 4 posts in the time frame that they have been on here is not very many......IMHO

No, I agree, but that is one heck of a price. I have been shopping around for a mid year or earlier and that really caught my eye. You are right though, he just signed on to sell that car.

IMHO, what is wrong with someone advertising here, even if they are a "one-shot" poster?
Any intell the CAC can get about a car for sale is good intell. We also have a group of guys on the CAC that don't own and maybe would consider purchasing this car.
Besides, there is always a good chance that the car is known by someone here. But, as always, do your due diligence before considering a purchase.

Other forums have had issues with minimal posters coming in and postijng up items for sale. On one hand I see nothing wrong with it, but on the other they have done nothing to make the forum a better place short of just coming in and offering items for sale.

A forum is only as good as its active members. People that regularly post that assist and add value to every one elses experience. IMHO, people that just come in to post items for sale do not add to the overall benefit of the membership as a whole. They don't interact, they strike and they leave. I guess that is what I don't like. Organizations are only as good as its members.

Forums like Z06vette.com have had quite a few hits and runs with people having one a few posts and then offering items for sale and then disappearing. They implemented a rule that unless someone had 25 posts, they were not eligible to post items for sale. They view the for sale area to be a benefit to its members who are active participants.

That is my opinion...that and $1 will get you a cup of coffee at McD's.
