1963 Corvette Project Car Stolen from Charlottehall Maryland

Its a roadster with no interior except dash pad and steering column, there is no front end except for the front fender, and it has a damaged driver's side door. The car has no motor and trans. The body is on a good rolling frame and the serial plate and cowl tag were still on the car. Its a basket case but i worked real hard for the money that i paid for it and i tried to buy it forever from an elderly guy. That doesn't sound like an easy car to steal. What happened?

I just spoke to Matt over email and he provided the following updates:

Thank you very much for posting that, and helping me out. The car has been found in fact, and the thief apprehended. The car (what was left of it) is now in boxes, and the serial plate and tag's were drilled off.

Everything is back in boxes, but the car was savable, before it was stolen, now its pretty worthless because the serial tag and plate were drilled. Those tags on a 63 were spot welded on, and if i restore it, someone seeing that will make the value of this car sooo much lower.
