Guys
So i saw the car this morning...i can't post pix until later today so please check back because there is only one number in question -- on the stamp there is the vin number on the lower left and on the right hand side in bigger but font but more lightly stamped id...is..... F030THH -- now the VIN number is 194675112440....the trim tag reads HI5....then below that is 65 467 S4022 900FF 450BA....(funny about this last number because the second digit which reads as a 5 looks like it was understamped as a 6..?)

I will post the pic of this data plate and the VIN plate -- -- the Holley carb had the 2818 stamp

So let me get to the big question...on the stamp pad on the block...there is a stamp that says 'performance clinic' -- it's near the F030HH stamp -- the pad is also dark -- not shiny metal -- i will post a pic of this stamp but has any one heard of performance clinic ? maybe in HUntington beach california? -- the owner says he has receipts that are old (from the 70's) from this shop....I know that you guys will need to see the stamps to tell me what you think about it being original but the "performance clinic" stamp looks like it could easily have been put on after the other 2

it's nassau blue 4 speed white leather -- which he says was white vinyl....? he redid the seats in leather -- he says it's posi rear end...oil gauge went to 80 -- correct for 365 hp car...

i just want to put up this rambling post so you guys can be primed for the pix which i will post by 7 p.m. -- west coast time -- probably much earlier -- please help -- sean

that "5" in the vin stamping should be a "S"

The VIN should be 13 digits.

A common error is to change the "S" mentioned above to a 5, but the VIN should be in the following format:

194675S1xxxxx

you guy ares are right that is an "s" -- i posted 2 pix that you guys need to look at -- both data plates under the glove box and the stamp pad on block -- i'm trying to figure out if this is the original block in that car before i buy it .... please help -- thanks -- sean
