Was the jack compartment in a 65 Corvette painted or was it left the natural fiberglas color? Thanks.

Natural, I believe, but some NCRS people should have the guaranteed answer. Stay tuned.

Here it is fellows

The following is my 65 body, with 100% factory under carpet color coverage. Some almighty might tell you that it's suppose to be done in black, but as you can see, the areas that were covered were done with the exterior Red color.

Have a good evening

agree, factory int color in jack storage area

Thanks all for your info. I have it stripped now, but looks like it should be painted red like my car.

After seeing above the above post from JohnZ, I referenced an old copy of the NCRS judging manual ( I should have done so previously ) and it states the following.

" The interior of the storage compartment is painted low gloss , and colour coordinated with the carpet colour "

As some may have figured out, the picture of the car that I posted above, also had a red/white interior, so that is why the jack area had been done in red.

I apologize for any confusion my response to this thread may have caused.

Again, thanks to all for all the info. My jack compartment is still in the bare and no harm done. There wouldn't have been any anyway since I am so slow doing things and a little paint would have cured the problem. I really do appreciate the help. Thanks again.
