Anyone know of good suppliers for the walnut plastic steering wheel for the 65 vette? Appreciate your suggestions. Bill

They're hard to find in good condition - they show up on eBay regularly, but many have cracks where the spokes join the rim; I don't know if anyone successfully restores them or not.

Swapmeets or other ads. No one is restoring these, yet. There are plenty out there, but condition is iffy.

Eckler's carries a reproduction of the original. Looks good in the catalog. Wonder if anyone of the forum has purchased one from them and would like to get their opinion on the quality. Also wonder if there are other sources that also offers a repro at a competitive price. Thanks -- Bill

After reviewing some old forum discussions on repairing this steering wheel, I've decided to attempt repairs myself. Repair kits are available with Eastwood if anyone is interested. If my efforts turns out bad, I guess I'll "bit the bullet" and purchase a teak. Thanks for the help.

Not sure if the Eastwood kits are woodgrain type or if it's only epoxy to be painted. You may already know, or you may want to check with Eastwood before you order.

We'd be glad to hear of any results you have, there's a lot of broken woodgrain wheels out there in need of repair!!

I have repaired lots of steering wheels, but never the plastic walnut ones, because I have not been able to find anything that is close in colour. If you luck out with the east wood kit, post your results. Good Luck.

Thanks for the "heads up" on the woodgrain issue. Called Eastwood and the kit will not work. Managed to cancel the order just in time. I suggested to Eastwood that there are a number of us looking for the proper kit. Maybe they'll take action and find a product for us to use. Meanwhile, I'll keep looking. Bill
