Could someone please tell me what the vacuum reading should be on a stock L-79 at idle? When this is checked should the PCV and vacuum advance be disconnected and plugged?

Thanks,
Mike

you would typically be checking this with the vac can hooked up and the idle speed set properly. use a "T" and a short piece of hose, put the "T" in the middle of the line between the can and the carb and take your reading there.

As I recall you should expect to see 12 - 16" at idle in an L79, but I may have that wrong. And I may be even more wrong when it comes to a 67 L79

update - per Duke, "L79 about 14" @ 750 "

Thanks for the info. That's exactly what I'm getting. My problem must be elsewhere.
