Just put in new front wiring harness.
if I follow the route along the hood opening from drivers side to passenger side, all the way, the tails will not reach the head lights. It does not seem right to come down from the top.
Could someone show or explain the proper path to follow.
Based on the three prong headlight wires to the out side position.
thanks

Do you have the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? The AIM shows the factory routing of the wiring harnesses, the vacuum hoses, and everything else installed on your car by assembly line workers.

The forward lamp harness, which includes the headlights and the fiber optics, routes down the driver's side fender skirt, through an opening in the radiator support, grounds on the front side of the radiator support, then goes to the driver's headlights and over to the passenger's headlights.

Along the way, you will pick up the horn relay and the alternator connections.

If memory serves, the only wiring running along the front of the hood is to the horns.
