Help! 1969 L88 Corvette VIN 194379S737360

Wouldn't be much fun if it is a good clone. L88's were almost undrivable. You couldn't go to the corner store without it overheating. A brute of a car. I have a 427/400 4spd A/C without PS or PB. Fun for a little while and cool to look at. $27k cheap enough though!

Clone?

In researching this earlier was found that Barrett-Jackson actually ran the car twice that auction under Lot 753 and Lot 790. Barrett-Jackson states that unless they have the documentation it is automatically listed as a clone.

It has a Turbo Hydra-matic transmission which came with both the 430 HP and 435 HP with a "Y" code on the transmission. There were 17 L88 Automatic Corvettes manufactured.

I respectfully disagree. My 69 had an L-88 installed under warranty when the L-89 spun a bearing. (The PO knew the zone service manager). That engine broke the cam in 1976 and the PO installed a crate LS-7. The PO installed the L-88 radiator from GM. IT runs warmer than the L-69 and L-71's, but no overheat problems unless you get stuck in traffic. I'm still running the LS-7, and it's a blast to drive- if you're not smiling while driving something is wrong. And you are correct- it is a BRUTE.
