I am at my witts end with this 4 speed shifter linkage replacement. It is a 1969 original I have asked for help and everyone has been great explaining to me what to do, but it (I) can't make it to happen.
All of you that I have talked with basically said disconnect linkage use allen wrench or something to keep evrything aligned, replace linage arms , adjust and so on.
I cannot for the life of me find anyplace to put an allen wrench or any whole to place anything. I have looked from top and bottom. New linkage kit came with a small tool that looks like a 3" tongue depresser it states to use this. I have pulled out instructions ond can see where it says it should go and can't find it either.
I cannot find anyplace to put allen wrench. I am at a loss what to do?
I have arms off but need to find out how to hold shifter plates in nuetral position.
If anyone has a diagram or knows of a reason I cannot see the whole, other then I am blind. please let me know.
Thanks guys..
