Help! 1970 corvette front springs

:confused Having trouble installing heavy duty after market springs. Springs do not match the original and will only rest in one of the mounting stops. If I cut spring on one end about two inches, it will then rest in both stops.

Thoughts? Comments?​
 
Send them back to the vendor. Sounds like a mix up occurred and what you have received may not be Corvette.

The front springs are to be seated only at the top, in the frame pocket, 3/8" from the formed stop in the pocket, as shown in the Assembly Manual; the hole in the recess in the lower control arm is only for water drainage, not spring indexing.
