1970 Corvette Windshield Wiper Switch & Connector

My question is about the wiring connector which connects to the back of the wiper switch.

The connector has (2) light blue wires, (1) black wire, and (1) dark blue wire. When using a 12 volt test light, the light blue wires/connector and dark blue wire/connector turn the light one.

Shouldn't the black wire/connector light up too?

That was helpful, thank you. I have some additional questions.

1) Where does the connector to the windshield wiper switch connect to on the other side?

2) The windshield wiper switch is "mushy." It's difficult to tell if the switch is in Wiper Off mode or Wiper High. Were they all made this way?


Black is likely to be the ground.

perhaps your wiper switch is just worn...
I would think that there should be some definition to it.
 
Keep in mind that the wiper switch needs to be grounded.

There is a video from Willcox that show how these things work. Check google for it.
