1970 vette quartz clock

the clock is my battery drain. last year i quartzed my clock and the 12volt lite lights up when i put it between the neg post and neg cable.does the quartz clock take that much electricity.It also draws only 12 mA.the clock still works good

you could put a battery tender on it or a disconnect and reset the clock every
time you get in it.
 
I use one on the '81. it takes a good long time to run the battery down but the ecm memory and the radio/clock memory will suck it down over a time. Pull the clock fuse then test it again to see if anything else is drawing on the battery.
