What were we talking about,;LOL

maybe the question should be:

Which is currently selling for more a 72 BB or a 2002 Z06?

just browse the want adds or Ebay and see what the selling prices are.

Thanks, Boss!

Hey Craig Jr. -

no problem Rick but I am the Sr. not the Jr. ;LOL boy I wish I was Jr.

abc a 383 is a 350 chevy with a 400 crank. Very common. One of the reasons you see owners of C1-C3 Corvettes putting different engines in their cars is they don't wanna take the risk of breaking parts in the matching numbers engine.

One thing to remember is some of the big block Vettes from 65-71 can keep up with the C5's until they become an aerodynamic brick at top speed.

Bottom line the newer Vettes cost alot more to maintain and we all don't have your big cash. :rotfl

I agree I still wish I could drive the 69 Corvette or especially the 70 LT-1 but I'm not strong enough to engage the clutch or the shifter. Maybe a 427 auto or 454 auto would be better for me if I ever went to an oldie but the ride is too much for me and its too hot in there uncomfortable.;)

I love Mopars but Mopars belong in Mopars You wouldn't put a Chevy 327 or 350 in a Mopar would you?:W
My favorite is the 68 Dodge 440 charger with a 727 TorqueFlite trans and also the 70 Challenger.:_rock

Nope, never put a 327 or a 350 in a 68 Charger, too small. But they do react very well with a 640 ci BB Chevy. How about 10.35 at 135 mph on just motor. :D But it wasn`t fast enough being way to heavy. The car now sports a 540 Hemi and twin turbos making it the 3 rd fastest at the shootout reaching a best of 9.56 and 153 mph. :upthumbs

PS. The times recorded were at the 2004 Hot Rod Magazine "Pump Gas Drags"

No way with these valualbe collector cars MUST stay original factory condition no ands or butts.:L

Well a small consession on your point of view is that all my junks appear to be stock originals. :L That is for all the bench racers and cruise polishers who dream of going fast. :cool

Yeah, keep 'em stock, that's what I always say. Except for the Ford 9" and a few other minor details everything was right off the shelf from GM (including the LT1)

I think this thread has run it's course. We've gone far beyond the original discussion.

If you all would like to continue this general discussion about automobiles you are invited to continue it in a Non-Technical / General Discussion Forum, e.g. OffRoad or General Automobile Discussion Forms ;)

Thank everyone for their input.
