Question: 1973 Headlight Wiring

I'm sure it's a simple one, but I just can't seem to find the answer
I'm redoing the headlights on my 73. All is going well. Can someone tell me what the extra plug is for (see diagram)? It was just wrapped around the other wires in back with nothing in it.

There is a switch on each headlight door.
When the headlights are turned on a RED light on the dash goes ON untill both sides a fully up.

Thank you for the info. That may explain it all. The anti-theft system was gutted and nonexistent long before I got her.

The switches on a '73 have nothing to do with anti theft. They simply indicate whether the headlight buckets are 'up and locked' or not.

It's been an interesting and fun ride going through my '73. Not a survivor but a getting to be a nice driver. Looking forward to my first show after 3 years. Patience...
