1973 Vette steering wheel question

I just bought my 73 Vette and it has the leather like steering wheel and it feels sticky all the time is this normal or is there a way to clean it with something without damage to the materal. Thanks

If it's the original wheel, the problem you have is very common. The stickyness is degradation of the material used, I don't know of any permanent fixes. Mild soap will help short term.

The original wheel was a 3 spoke black rimmed wheel. The black was plastic type compound and thin rimmed. The leather wheels came out in 77. Nce replacement originals are about $100.
