1974 Hood Won't Open

My hood release cable broke and I can't open the hood. I have tried rocking the hood to pop it and it won't release. Any Ideas out there?

There are two plugs in the firewall that can be removed and a long screwdriver can be usd to push open each latch. I believe Mid-America's website shows this method.

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately, the latches that Mid-America demonstrates are completely different (1978) from my 1974. I found the plug holes and tried for hours to replicate the Mid-America technique with no results. I see that you have a 1973, do your Hood Latches resemble the latches shown on the Mid-America website? I would appreciate any guidance on this matter. Thanks!

I have an 82. All years should be the same...more or less. Read the text.

Only other way know of is by going through the side vent.
