Gentlemen - I've read every post I could concerning tire sizes for various C3's. I have nearly completed restoring my '74. I am using '76 aluminum wheels and I would like to use the widest tire without causing any problems. I am leaning towards a BFG 245 60 15. There is an aftermarket rear suspension on my car. Does that matter? How about the emergency brake cable? Your thoughts and options would be greatly appeciated. Thank you in advance.

There seems to be so many different answer's when it come to years and tire sizes. Our 1972 has 245/60/15 all around without any issues, some say you can even use 255/60/15 on the rear.
I went with a size I knew for sure would fit all around.
Happy tire hunting

Welcome to the forum. You didn't mention what wheels you're running which makes a difference, both width and offset. I've run 255/60-15 tires on both stock wheels and 8.5" wide w/ -4.0" offset w/ no problems. The parking brake cable bracket is about 3/8" from sidewall. May be a little closer.
