I just purchased my first vette after 17 years of waiting. My problem is the hood in relation to the passenger side fender. The hood is about 3/16 lower than the fender height and I want to get it level. I was on Ecklers and I see that I can purchase hood alignment bumpers. Are these what I need to get everything level and if they are where should they be placed. The gaps are also a little off on the hood but I know I can adjust that with the hood hinges. Any help or input is greatly appreciated.

This will show you where to locate the bumpers. Also, there are shims under the hinge.

if your going to do alot of work yourself you should pickup an assembly manual, also sold through ecklers. you should also pickup a factory repair manual and a wire diagram.

Use the above diagram as a starting point, but in the end, put the bumpers where you NEED them. Also, be prepared to grind some material off the base of the bumpers. And if you need to raise the hood in the vicinity of the wiper well be prepared to adjust the hood catches. You don't want them so tight that they bind and risk snapping the cable.

Well put. Installation of the alignment bumpers is 100% trial and error.
