hi
i decided to work on my power windows because they were going up and down slow, so i put in new window motors and lubed up everything i could and they are still just as slow as before. :confused does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? could it be the window switches?
thanks

I wouldn't think it would be the switch, although one never knows. Is it equally slow with the car running? Mine is slow as hell with the power off, but goes much faster with the engine running. Apparently they drew a lot of current back then, and don't work so well off the battery.

If they are slow going up but not bad going down it could be the assist spring that is on the power window regulator. They can snap and fall off into the bottom of the door causing the poor lift speed due to no spring assistance.

Happened to both windows on my wife's '78

Hope his helps:)

Take care,
Brian

The felt pressure pads that stop the windows from rattling are pressing into the glass too much. Losen them and reduce the pressure against the window.
