1978 Glove Box Lock

Does anyone know how to remove the glove box lock on a 78? Once I get it off is there a way to tighten it? Mine is real loose and it's driving me crazy.;help

Just did mine on my '78. All you need is a small flat head screwdriver. Open the door and look at the pass. side of the lock. There is a small slot that the screwdriver will fit into, as you put the screwdriver in the slot at the same time pull on the outer ring (where the key goes in) out. What you are doing is depressing the tumblers one by one till the lock drops out. The rest is ez...

Yes, also see if the bezel (where the key goes in) in loose. If so, glue it.

Thank You very much. I had a little trouble getting it back in but it all works like advertised now. AND I went to a small show today here in England and won best modern car. There were several upset pony car owners there and that made it even better.
