Help! 1979 Corvette Hood on a 1980:

;help Would anyone know if a 1979 hood would fit on a 1980 corvette without any problem or major modifications? Will it just bolt on or not??
I like the 79 look with the higher rise in the center of the hood. I know that the hood on the 80 was suppose to be thinner/lighter, but could the 79 work without problems.

It should fit just fine.

Is your hood okay? I'm wondering why you would want to swap out the hood for another stick hood. There is no gain in height by a 77-79 hood swap on an 80.

I would say it should fit. i have what appears to be a 80-82 hood on my 79.

I might be mistaken, and if you say I am, I probably am.
My older brother once and a 79 with the L82. The L82 emblem on a 79 is on the side of the rise, center of the hood. On the 80, the side of the rise is not high enough for that emblem to fit, and that put the emblem just behind the front wheels. Even looking at present day photos of the 79's, the rise of the center of the hood looks to be about a
1/2" or little more higher. I just like that look better.
There is nothing wrong with the hood I have now. I just thought I might play with the look of the car, and even have the option of going back and forth.
