1980 pillar weatherstrips

How do you remove and replace pillar weatherstrips and also the door posts on my 1980 corvette. I have the new 9 piece kit .

I,m guessing that you are referring to the rear pilar. They are pop-riveted on from the back. Remove the trim, where seatbelt comes out. Once that is moved out of the way you will be able to see the pop-rivets. Then drill the rivets out and then you can remove the seal. Sometimes the seals are also glued.

Hope this helps alittle; I remenber the first time I replaced the pillar seals. It was not a pretty picture.:bash ad ;help :W

Purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM). The AIM shows all the weatherstrip installation in addition to thousands of other items.

You will also want a can of 3M weatherstrip adhesive remover. The stuff works and will not eat paint.
