Yep...I let this one sneak up on you. Just when you thought I was not busy enough...POOF...goes my spare time.

I met a really cool guy named Kurt. He is a master ASE tech at the local chevy dealer. He owns a tired 1980. He has been putting parts together and recently finished building a wicked 406. However, we have to get the old mill out first.

We set up outside the garage under my shade tent..instead of shade tree, and got started this afternoon.

Here are the pics.

Starting out here:

Next weekend he will be over to clean this mess up and get it ready for some paint.

Wow!

I never cease to be amazed!

You have the same 24 hours a day everybody else has. Not only do you do amazing work on your own time, but also you find the time to help others on the weekends!

Can you tell us more about the 406?

Is Kurt going to beef up the trans?

Bill

are you sure you don't have a clone? you need one to do all the projects you have going.:BOW

thanks Chris! i am with Bill, what is the 406 build?? and more importantly how does it run??? looking forward to seeing the progress. Brian

We are going to visit this again Saturday.

Kurt is working to get his home internet up and running again. (He just moved). As soon as he does, we will get him logged on here to give the 411 on his engine combo.

Right now we are working on the laundry list of "must haves" to get her road worthy again.

Wow, his engine looks GREAT!!!!!!!!

He spent the better part of the day helping me install the six speed in Killer and pressure washing his engine bay.

Today will be more of the same, and prepping to put some paint under his hood so the engine bay looks as good as his motor.

More pics and details soon.

BTW--he just moved and is still getting his internet going. So, we will get him here soon to give the details on the engine internals and his 700R4 swap!

another angle.

Notice the bowtie manifold..these are the off road aluminum heads.

Stuffed inside is a solid lifter cam, some nice pistons, and everything is balanced out.

Here is the old engine bay...not much to look at...just wait..and see what they did today!

True love!

I think all husbands and wifes should give this a go!

Here is Kurt and his wife Renee scrubbing, sanding, prepping, and smoothing over the firewall and exposed frame for some nice paint treatment.

Ahhhh fresh paint!!!!!!

This is where I came in. I sprayed his fiberglass parts (firewall and inner fenders) with truck bed liner. We then shot the metal frame and suspension parts with a oil based semi gloss.

Looks nice...
