1981 headlight conversion

Just checking to see if anyone has ever done or seen an headlight conversion,where you would remove the pop up headlights and install permanent lights free standing.I also own a Pontiac fiero and have seen an conversion kit for that car.I have seen a few pic's of vette's with the headlights bit to no prevail have found any information on them .Any help would be appreciated.Tim

You looking for the conversion like on my 80 as shown in my avatar??
These came on the car when I got it and have thought about going back to original but thats mighty expensive to find all the hardware to do it.
I don't drive much at night but they are tough to get adjusted right and don't seem to give you as much light as standard headlights as set alot lower than regular.
You can get them thru Ecklers or Corvette Central for around 350.00.
I had to get new bezels that go around the headlights as mine had holes drilled thru them that the last owner drilled to try to adjust them thru.
If you decide to get them make sure to keep your original set!
