See the attached photo. There are two hoses labeled and I need to know what each of them are and where they go. I haven't seen the car but was told that one of those two hoses is just laying on the valve cover. Note, this photo is not of the car in question, rather an example of what it should look like.

Also, should an 81 air cleaner lid be chrome or black?

Thanks!

Okay...hose #1 Is the heat riser(?)..runs from the heat shield to the bottom of one of the snorkels on the air cleaner(front one)

Hose #2 runs from the exhaust manifold on that side into the bottom of the piping for the A.I.R. pump
and the air cleaner is chrome, mine also has a black ring around the outside edge of about an inch...
hope this helps,Eric
P.S. the '81 exhaust manifold is unique to only the '81's

Thanks a ton Bill! AIR pump, forgot all about that thing;LOL. Going to look at it after work.

Eric,

FYI if the snorkle flex is made from Cloth Material they are original, I say this because it appears the aluminum heat riser is original. The Black aluminum tube is not available any longer, now they are all aluminum and aluminum in color ;)

Thanks Bud, now one more...

Do the L-81's also have the "two-stage" charcoal filter thingy that sits just inside of the air filter that runs the circumference of the inside of the air filter? Since my truck has computer controlled fuel delivery, I assumed the same would run for the L-81.

YES to the charcoal HP robbing "air" filter ;)
