I am converting my '81 rear window to a 1982 rear hatchback. Does anyone have a 1982 CE Assembly manual. If so, could you please copy the assembly pages for the rear hatchback installation. I would greatly appreciate it. You can email me or fax 714-843-6927. Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Thanks, But I have all of the components. If I can't get the documentation from this forum, I can order the manual online for about $25.00. Thanks again for your reply.

All the aftermarket providers carry the AIMs; you can also find them on eBay. Check prices. The best deals include the AIM and a 3-ring binder to put it in. Watch eBay. There are vendors selling AIMs for $10, then charging $25 to ship it to you.

that looks like something I would love!

Is the glass the same, just a different frame and hinges??

It's a bit more involved than just the glass hatch; there are latches and latch hardware; hinges (hard to find and one year only) and hinge hardware; interior trim panels to allow for hinges and latches, etc. '82 AIM will show the installation and the required parts.

:)

Thanks for all of your feedback. I do have all of the required components to complete this project. Brackets, hinges, release lever, interior trim.I will order an assembly manual from either corvette central, Ecklers or Mid-America. I will document all of my work. I will try and figure out how to load the photo's. This project is one of many that will take place with my '81. I have ordered a round tube rolling racing chassis with C5 & C4 suspension (coil overs), a Tremec 6-speed trans and a LS7 Engine. This will be an ongoing project. This project, I am calling "Project '81 Z06". I am still thinking about what I should call it when it's finished. As a corvette die-hard. I do not want to offend anyone who likes to keep their cars stock. I eventually will be selling a 2 owner california 4-speed rolling chasis. My current rolling chassis is straight and rust free. The two owners were female, so the car has been treated with care. That's all for now. Any "Positive" feedback is always welcome.

Nope, the glass we have (82 CE's) has holes in the top and bottom to allow for the hinges to bolt to the glass on the top and the pin's that lock it on the bottom to be mounted. They are purchasable (sp?) but fairly pricey. Thats why all CE guys are very carefull with their hatch.

When i redid my hatch weather strip i put the glass in our spare bedroom on a bed with a blankey. ;LOL

Also, the rear latches are cabled together with a pull knob behind the drivers seat for unlatching, those need to be mounted too.. But as Mike said, all parts are in the AIM.
