82 Vette CE

Guest
I just purchased a 82 collectors edition vette. I am not familiar with corvettes but the dash and console lights seem to be dim. Is this normal for the C3's and is there any way to make them brighter? Has anyone installed LED lights on this vehicle and how hard is it to do?

thanks,
first time corvette owner

Hi there..
Welcome to the:CAC !!

Actually, if i dial the dimmer switch all the way up, they're okay. Did you check on that ? It's the little turn knob that also controls the wipers. Left hand side on the dash, above the pull knob for the headlights.

Thanks for keeping another 82CE alive... :_rock

Go over to the Introductions, and you'll get a proper Welcome from the crowds. And we all love pictures of Vette's.. ;)

Good to have you here..
Let me know if this fixed your question, if not, we'll work out what the problem is.

Dont forget to Wave!

PS: Abouth the LED's: Nope not here..

Dash Light Thanks

Thanks for the help on the dash lights. I did not know this and I will try it when I get home. Thanks for the help.

I thought turning the pull knob for the headlights controlled the dimmer. I only have an 81, but it wouldn't make sense to change that for the last year. Consider one knob could control all the lights, and the other control just wiping functions (including the washer). It seems more logical that way..

Dim Dash reply

That is more like what I was thinking but being a new owner, but I was willing to try it.

thanks

You are 100% correct.
I made a mistake and should have reread what i wrote. :duh
I apologize (i am so embaressed :o ): Of course the headlight knob turn is the dimmer and the wiper one controls the delay.

Sorry!
