Hey everyone,

I'm hoping that someone with a non-collector's edition 1982 can answer this question: what gauges are in the center instrument cluster?

I have coolant temp, fuel, oil temp, oil pressure, volt meter.

I have seen some instrument clusters for sale listed as 1982, but they have a clock instead of oil temp.

I'm just trying to figure out if i have the correct gauges, or if someone replaced my clock with an oil temp gauge (maybe out of a 1982 CE?).

Thanks!

I think the radio dictated whether there was a clock or oil temp gauge.

If the radio option included a (then new technology) digital clock, then an oil temp gauge replaced the stock analog clock.

If the radio was an 8 track with flip down station dial, then the analog gauge clock stayed.

just my uneducated research

I have an 80 and my dad has an 82. Paul's right about what gauge goes where in lieu of the clock.

one of the BIG things i read while researching my 82 when i was buying it was that it featured a quartz movement clock, mine doesnt have it either so i have often wondered where it went because as far as i can see the gauges are stock.. but the stereo IS aftermarket....but who listens to the stereo

No clock here either. I don't recall ever seeing one in an 82, but the 80 we sold a while back had it.

In the 1981 corvette,The ETR Radio was introduced.it was the digital radio with the clock in it and the oil temp gauge took its place.

82, no clock. Oil Temp instead. The clock is in the Radio.

My 82 is all original, and it has the Quartz clock in the gauge cluster. The radio has a manual frequency adjust with no digital readout. My car was as base as they came. It had the ralley wheels, and no rear defrost, no power seat, no power antenna, and no power mirrors.

The 81 my friend Terry just bought has the original radio with the digital clock in it along with teh oil temp gauge. It has power everything except the mirrors.

LaRastus

My '82 is stock and it also was equiped with a clock and not with the oil temp.
