I have a 1982 Corvette. I am removing the seats and respraying the vinyl. Removing the seats and the front two bolts of the seat shell was nothing, yet the back two bolts are welded to a metal support plate. Do I need to use a motor tool and cut these bolts off to remove the seat shell? With only a small space to work behind the seat, I could only get my pinky in the sliding track to feel for a bolt to loosen. The problem here is there is very little room to work and no where to turn a small wrench. Can you help me?

Slide the seat forward and use a socket and a long extension. I think it takes a 1/2 inch socket.

interchangeable w/74 ?

I just put a set of 82 seats into my 74 coupe-- the front bolts match up fine, but the rear bolts are nowhere close!

Did I do something wrong or are they simply off an inch or so?

Do I just drill new rear holes and put a reinforceing plate behind it ?

Thanks

cqrt. you install was correct. i have the same set-up in my 74 also. fronts locate correctly. and i drilled the rears. then filled the extra left-over holes.
